Okay fellas, you've missed out on this years calender, so start preparing for next season.
World Titles in Finland: http://www.sonkajarvi.fi/?deptid=15136
And the Aussie Titles: http://home.exetel.com.au/countryfest/Whats_on.html
Alright, this is a little sexist as I think there should be a 'Husband carrying' event also??

I used to be able to carry very heavy things and a long way but my wife...hmm?...she's not fat or anything but she always seemed heavier for some reason
Need to be married to a jockey :P

I used to be able to carry my wife quite easily when the need arose. This being a family-friendly forum I won't say to where I carried her ... just that she didn't mind ;). These days we just walk briskly.

Well people ,has the word has got out, we have been running this comp in Singleton for about 3 years (see the Singleton Council web site about the event for rule's and reg,s ) and it is a great day.It has been on the Getaway Travel show (last year I thing ?)you don't need to have a wife !you can carry anyone who is willing . As the couple this year they have different parters but have competed as a couple and all have gone to Finland for the comp this year .If you do no good in the comp then you should bring your telescopes and go up to Lake St Clare camping area for dark skies( if their is no cloud) .Lake St Clare is only 10 min from Loststock Dam as the the crow fliers (home for IIS star camp and those who have been to Loststock will know how dark the skie can be.

Hi,
I will have to boycott this thread. I am a sensitive new age grandad after all, and slowly getting to the stage where I need someone to carry me.
Cheers
