Hi, i will be looking to upgrade the eyepieces on my 8" skywatcher dob soon. My budget is around $300 total. I have been looking around and a zoom eyepiece seems like it might be a cheaper solution rather than buying 3 seperate ones. Possibly even the Baader Hyperion 8-24mm one as i've heard good things about them.
Greatly appreciate any guidance and oppinions.

Yes, Joel, it gets good reviews, but remember it is not a very wide field. As I recall it is a bit better than other zooms. OK, I found the specs:-

"The field of view is 68º at the 8mm setting, and 50º at 24mm."

If you find an acceptable long focal length eyepiece, closer to 80 deg AFOV, you might be happier. Used as well as the zoom.

So at 24mm it has an apparent field of view much like a "plossl".

Cool, any recommendations in the $100 range? Also what is a good starting set, should i just replace the 25mm and 10mm for the same sizes?

Can you get to a gathering and borrow some prospective eyepieces and try in your scope?

Perhaps head for the big smoke and drop into Bintel and/or Andrews for a chat about your needs.

Of course, search out all the "Help suggest eyepiece" threads on the site and read them.
