Les

What you need is longer subs and not as many to capture higher SNR which will result in brighter images. Dumbell and Ring nebulas are faily faint and would suggest 5 minute and upwards exposures.

Good detail in Eta can be caputered with 3 minute exposures.

20-30 longer exposures are all you need.

An EQ6 properly aligned (drift) should be able to track well unguided for around 3 minutes or more. If you know of someone with experience drift aligning seek their help (me I cheat using a guide scope SSAG camera)

Don't forget darks and flats as well

My start up bible was this

Hope this helps

Les, you're definitely on your way now.
Wish I could give you a hand with your drift align, but, it would be the blind leading the blind I'm afraid.
All I can suggest is getting along to either Pete's at Somerset on the 25th or Cambroon on the 18th. You're sure to get a push in the right direction there.

Nice collection of images Les but they would improve greatly with longer exposures. There is really no better way of improving your images without going down the path of longer exposures.
