Hi all,
thought i would buy Telstra Wireless Broadband for use up here in Weipa.
You know the advertising hype,( Fastest wireless in AUST.)
What a load of CRAP!!!

I'm forever refreshing pages that it says it cant display. Continually get cutoff and spending a fortune on credit.

Come on Telstra get your act together. Stop paying ridiculous salaries to so called executives and concentrate on delivering what you promise, but so far fail to do!!!!!!!!!!:mad2::mad2::mad2:
Damn i could almost swear !@#$%^&*

Cheers,
Duncan:mad2:

Ps Plenty of signal, live right beside their tower.

Try moving close to a Window. I work in the industry, wireless, is well, dodgy to say the least. I personally wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Most of the network guys that I know are the same - give them a cable anyday.

i use a wireless connection, works mostly ok, it does hang up on you periodcally,

broadband .... define what speed is, as its not lightning fast IMO

2 points.... make sure you record your usage, as mine has been incorrectly several times. the other is telstra doesnt seem to have a complaints dept, after several unanswered written complaints you have to take it to the ombudsman.

note im not at all concerned about libel recriminations..... as its fact.

my grumble over.....back to :)

In my opinion, I think you're being a little unfair on them Duncan. Try getting the same coverage from another provider, I don't like your chances.

We live on the road permanently in our van (Grey Nomads), and I use the Bogpond 7.2 Home Network Gateway Modem connected to a GME AE915 WCDMA aerial. We find there isn't many places we can't get reception, so much so that quite often we have no service on our blue tick NextG phones but can still manage internet connection with the aerial.

At present I'm sending this from the banks of Lake Maraboon in the QLD Central Highlands not too bad in my books!

Maybe you need to look for a work around like an external aerial? I do believe we tend to look a bit unfairly on Telstra at times, this is a vast continent to try and give full coverage to in sparsely populated areas. :)
