It's a bit of a pity to see such a rare and classic car ruined by that oversized monster in the engine bay and an ugly roll cage fitted. I hope it's a fibreglass replica.....
Yeah the roll cage can go ;)
But the engine stays :D

Go for it ! They are good buying at the moment, an '88 can be got for peanuts out of the UK.
I am lucky enough to be driving a 996 Carrera 911 4S convertable. Absolutley NO good for taking a scope to a dark site.

LOL! If we're going to get into this.... this will hopefully be my next car. I've been eyeing them off for a year now, and will make a "go/no go" decision shortly. I don't have a SWMBO any more, so stuff it! Mid-life crisis time. A bit quicker than the Land Rover I'm told...
Supercharged V8 time.
I must be mad.

I like the new Maserati GT Trevor. It's a good car by all counts so far - so much better than the simply horrible and disastrous previous model.
If we're in to video promos today - here's one I like for the Jag XF Coupe due shortly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkJOQIGk5GA - a bit flashy, but quite well done too. I'm going for the 4-door saloon simply because it's half-sensible and can fit people comfortably. LOL!
Here's the next model up from the one I'm looking at - and it's seriously more dolla. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5HJd3Pwtys&feature=fvst

Just wondering which models you were alluding to Chris ? the 80's and early 90's models. I've been lucky enough to have a track day at Barbagallo raceway with several maseratis and have driven the Gran Turismo, the Quattroporte and the 4200 very fast around the track and they are all a joy. I might also be lucky enough to have a 4200 Spyder in my garage which is a delight to drive.:) Their driver engagement is so much stronger than many other sports cars I've driven.

John, I love the way you think:D:)
Now, all I need is $2.6 million and I'll have my dream car:D
In lieu of one of these, an Aston Martin DBS will do just nicely....at nearly $500K:D

Peter, I'm referring to the '02-'06 Coupe. Great engine, lousy gearbox and very unsure handling - so say most sources out there. I might have spoken too soon, but was not the Gran Tourismo a re-development of the Coupe?

I suspect porsche reviewer came to that conclusion;). The 3200 coupe(its the one with the boomerang tail lights) from 1999 was the new dawn with part ferrari ownership and shared engine technology a few reliability issues with them, then in 2002 the 4200 with all new 4.2l V8 available coupe or spyder, evolved to gransport with quattroporte developed around same time. Gran turismo all new model after Gransport ceased production. The 4200 is a super car, have had no problems with mine. I have driven quite a few high end cars and I've driven this at about 175km/h on a racetrack and enjoy the driver engagement of the maserati.:)

After being knocked from my BMW motorcycle in December last year I thought it prudent to stop riding and upon recovery I purchased a little red Mazda MX5, a wonderful car that is not really fast but very quick, the only problem was that it left me feeling that I wanted to get closer to everything again so there is now another BMW motorcycle in the shed as well. With about 90hp at the rear wheel and more than 100Nm, 0 to 100 kph in 3sec is a snap and an all day cruising speed of 125kph is possible whilst returning about 19klm/litre.
You can't look at the stars in the daytime.

I also had an old LX torana with a 253 in it i started my own little project of stripping it back to metal and getting ready to paint it brocky blue then some nasty person thought it was looking awsome and stole it :mad2: I was devasted that was my very first car :(

Nice cars guys but not a patch on the magna :)
notice even at a 1/10 000 sec exposure its still a blur
give me a slight downward hill a modest headstart and no corners
and its eat my dust :)

This would just about take the magna and the voyager at the lights (if I didn't stall it). I took this photo at the Ferrari shop in Milan recently. The driver space is disturbingly small. I doubt I would have feelings in my legs after 5 minutes:)

Here's my baby. I first saw one back in March 1989 at the Perth bike show and remember standing in front of the display mesmerised by her beuty. I had to have one. By Oct that year after after a 6 month wait and parting with a fist full of lire she was mine :). I have had many bikes over the years but this one is a keeper and I will never sell her. The sound when those big throttle bodies and massive fuel injectors are wide open defies description and the torque :D. She turns 20 this year and is still to clock 30K. Her name is Madonna .

thinking back .. dream car ?
way back a friend had one of these
http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/car_info_ford_escort_twin_cam.htm
I have driven a few fast cars over the years.. I dont think I've been in anything that could scare the bejesus out of me than that old escort .
cam had poured so much money into it , gear ratios ,carby
( as if a couple of big assed webbers wern't dropping enough fuel down its throat anyway anyway).. every cent he got got poured into that car to make it go faster.. Didn't have a big top end speed .. 200 or thereabouts .. but it could throw you over the back seat all the way up to it .
I took these outside my workplace recently ;)
(last pic from Rome, Da Vinci Airport)

I've answered the question in this thread a thousand times in my head, even have categorised versions (dream car if I could only have 1, best under 50, 100, 500K etc, I even have a dream garage for all price ranges that would cover all occasions.
So to avoid boring you all with the details, here's a pic of my current baby. Plenty of room in the back for astro gear ;)

Well actually, that isnt entirely true.
Whilst in the USA last year I had a discussion with a guy who worked at NASA (now and during the 60s) and he told me a story that I have since confirmed as true. Coco beach had a Chevvy dealer that come up with a bright idea, he would lease a Corvette himself, loan it to a returned Apollo astronaut for 12 months on the premise that it was a reward for their bravery or something like that, what he then did was get the car back at 12 months and sell it to the public at a much higher price than retail as a preowned ex Apollo astronaut vehicle, people would line up for miles to buy that particular car. Very clever indeed. Those cars are now very collectible and worht a lot of money today, the known whereabouts of them is readily available through a variety of sources.
Mine however is a 79 model and Apollo was long gone by then, it is simply an ex-Californian car previously owned by a middle aged woman who couldnt afford to keep paying the ludicrous amount that California want annualy for their smog compliance.

The old man runs around in a 400 powered ;68 Impala.
Also have a HQ holden of my own with a 350 chev waiting to go in it, also on Simmons Wheels. Have to build another house first before I am allowed to proceed with that one though... Its just sleeping in the shed at the moment.

I similar thing happen here. When Bob Dylan played in the local venue he specified a certain type of lounge chair to sit in backstage. Before the gig he sat in barely long enough to warm the seat and didn't hang around after the gig at all. The furniture shop that loaned the chair to the venue then put it in the store window as 'The Chair Bob Dylan Sat In' and sold it for many times its true value.
