I bought the complete series of "Men Behaving Badly". The UK version of course. I'm laughing so much it hurts.
At the same time I bought season 1 of "Mork and Mindy". It's not too bad, my kids like it and I had a few sniggers and giggles. Robin Williams is a terrific as always but Pam Dawber was miscast as Mindy. Too wishy washy.
Na nu na nu.

Bought the complete Mother and Son (all 6 series) about a month ago...only one episode left! Never realised it before, but every episode is called "The....something"...just a bit of trivia.

Also bought the complete "One Foot in the Grave", very funny British comedy. I will start on this one after M&S.

I only ever buy music DVDs - once I see a movie I've seen it enough times. The last purchase was:

The Chieftans - The Nashville Sessions (just fantastic)
Devo in the Land of the Rising Sun (better than I expected)
A Eurythmics music clip collection (a bit ho hum)
Asia, Fantasia (OK, but every member of the band is better than the product)

Nar, I just remember seeing him on TV as a kid, and what he did, I mean, to ride down a three man break-away, 6min ahead, all by himself, catch them 1km from the finish and then out sprint them without contest, that's just I-N-S-A-N-E

High Road to China (1983)

A real fave of mine for ages. It was release only this year on DVD in Australia !!

Best of all it was just $5 !! :eyepop:

The brilliant 1977 semi autobiography aviation novel, in which the film is loosely based, was written by Australian author Joh Cleary. It is an absolute gem!!

Last 2 I bought were Doctor Who, the City of Death (Tom Baker is my favourite doctor) and The Magnificent Evans, Ronnie Barker. Not got the second one yet, but looking forward to it, a great comedian.

We bought Bolt, a Disney Animation about a small white dog named Bolt who, having spent his entire life on the set of a television series, thinks that he has super powers. When he believes that his human, Penny, has been kidnapped, he sets out on a cross-country journey to "rescue" her. (Wiki) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolt_%282008_film%29)

I am starting wear a bit thin with all the childrens animation movies, but Bolt was a pleasure to watch. A great all-round family movie.

The dual "The Village" and "Signs" DVD, great value @ $14 for both movies. I'd seen Signs before on TV, but hadn't seen The Village. I have to say I really enjoyed the movie, great twists.

Oh, and I also bought a movie at the same time called "Mousehunt" - damn hilarious movie - go the mouse!

Dave,

I love The Village. It's one of my favourite movies. It's beautifully choreographed, and, well, Bryce Dallas Howard... ;)

There's something that really irritates me about that movie, though. It's when people say they knew the twist five minutes into the movie. Give me a break? How is that even possible?

Humayun

I enjloyed the village, thought it was a good movie. Didn't see the twist coming at all.

Last movie I bought was, I can't remember now. I have been downlo... I mean the last movie I bought was "Nico: Above the Law" Steven Seagals major film debut, and probably the only good movie he ever made.

dpastern

Yes, I agree on the choreography. The acting is decent as well. I wasn't sure who Bryce Dallas Howard was, so I had to Google the name. Now I know. Yes, she's rather a beautiful lass.

As to the twist, I didn't realise it until the end, although I did have some suspicions around half way through the movie that the elders knew more about the forest than they were letting on.
