Good actor, I fondly remember streets of San Francisco as a kid/teenager.

he did plenty of work long before "The streets of San Fransisco"

For me, best remembered, IMO in "On the waterfront" and "A streetcar named Desire".

I liked him too, in the made for tv miniseries ; "Fatal Vision" (I think that was the title).. based on a true story, a woman was murdered along with her children in their home, and her husband, a doctor and a former green beret or similar survived the attack but in reality was the killer.

Karl Malden was the bereaved father and grandfather - at first a supporter of his surviving son in law, but eventually suspected him and worked for years to bring him to trial.

A great character actor.

I remember watching "The streets of San Fransisco". I enjoyed that show.

And yes O recall him in "A Sreetcar named Desire".

I more remember him in the film 1970's film "Patton" playing Omar Bradley, who was the ★★★★ star American General who lead the U.S. Third Army after D-Day and lead during the Allies drivein to Germany during WWII.
Malden had second billing, behind Georg C. Scott.
This film remains on of the best 65mm Panavision (one of two in so-called Dimension 150) colour films to be made. :thumbsup:

Great film that...Malden was a really good actor. I practically grew up watching Streets of San Francisco. Who can also forget "Don't leave home without it" - American Express commercials he did.
