After almost 1.5 years without using my 5" MN56 scope, I'm finally going to set it up this weekend!!!!!!!! :)

Going camping at "Blackdown Tablelands" (wherever that is) and the plan is to setup the scope and see if I can remember how to work it!

One issue though: I only have a dew shield. I'm fairly sure my scope will dew up as soon as darkness hits...any suggestions for ways to keep the dew off as long as possible? Will setting up a tent directly above the scope help? Dew falls, right??

Cheers.

afaik that is correct. so if something is over the top it should in theory protcet the scope... makes it hard to view tho...

I am still alive too :)

Going camping

you'll have a fire

take some aluminum foil, add goals from fire, place on dew sheild with duck tape

instant dew heater

I thought Aluminum foil had a high melting point...If not, what are "goals" from the fire?

let the coals cool a bit first and yes Aluminum foil does have a fairly high melting point

improvise, don't pick on the spelling
