I'm thinking of buying a 12" collapsible dob. Are people who have had one of these for a while quite satisfied with them?

Any preference for brands and price / feature trade-offs ?

Thanks,

Andrew

I am doing fine with mine, needs collimination more than smaller ones but when you get the hang of it collimination is nothing major.

Made a trolley carrier now can move it around the back yard myself now and made a car carrier using a piece of 3mm MDF and the OTA foam packing.

Foam packing very handy.

I have a 12" Skywatcher collapsable. It is great. Very good optics, collapses and extends easily. Little on the heavy side fully assembled - about 40 kgs. Collimation is not really a problem, I check each time and haven't had to adjust for the last three sessions. Got a really good deal through Gerry Gibbs Camera house in Perth (only cost $15 to ship from Sydney warehouse). I understand Andrews also has it on special. For a full review, see Aust Sky & Telescope July 2009, they give it a very good wrap.

I'm very pleased :):):)

Andrew,
I've had my 12" LB for just over 3 years.
If I was to go back would I buy it again? YOU BET!!:)
