Mr Squiggle turns 50 today!

However, I was sad to read in Wikipedia:-

Just a little note on oesophagus cancer. My partner was diagnosed with oesophagus cancer in 2003 when she could not swallow and brought everything up if she tried. We went to the local GP who refered us to the specialist who in turn had a surgeon doing the removal of the oesophagus. The tests took about a week and the diagnosis was removal of the oesphagus or she would be dead in a few weeks. She was 81 at the time.

She agreed to the surgery with about a 25% survival rate. They put her in Westmead hospital immediately. She was in intensive care for three weeks and hospital for another six weeks. She fully recovered (the specialist thought she was wonderful). She is now 87 and had a little trouble a few weeks ago but it was only scar tissue which has been removed in a couple of day surgeries. She is a surviver!

Mr Squiggle was cool everytime that show was on i used to grab a pencil and some paper and make mum scribble something for me and i used to try and draw a pic too ;)

Oh, Miss Jen....
All I remember is the deep voice of Blackboard and the brash words of; "Hurry Up, Hurry Up!" when ever the pictograph wasn't place on him.
Also I can recall, Mr Squiggle was the "Man From the Moon", but I can't recall which crater he lived in. Can anyone remember that? :shrug:

It must have been an awful time for both of you. Emotionally and physically.
So glad that the latest hiccup with her health was relatively minor.
She's a lucky lady to have such a caring partner.:)

Thanks for this. I'd had forgotten it all, but the brain cells still recall a little about it, and now the penny has dropped! Now, being much older, how utterly appropriate and imaginative. I suppose it was my first science fiction series I'd ever watched, and I think it was on around 4pm or 4.30pm on ABC TV. (Ie. The Programme Guide for Sunday 30th March 1969.
