Finally I had a good night after what seems like months of pitiful conditions. Despite the moon being out I was able to time the viewing with an overall good session. Some good moon views/double stars tight & bright/open clusters with beaming crystals/ after the moon went down the lagoon nebula was a real treat. Jupiter was probably the best view I have ever had.
Hopefully this will mark the beginning of some good long viewing sessions and an end to the terrible conditions of late. It was good while it lasted anyways.

I've been having some really shocking seeing lately here in Sydney. It doesn't help being in a suburban area but the last couple of times I've dragged the scope out it's been pretty ordinary. The image of the moon dances around so much it looks like it's suspended in water and I've not seen any detail on either Jupiter or Saturn.

Sorry for the delayed response. I just got my Gall Bladder taken out and had to spend a night in Hospital. Light pollution in Toowoomba is slowly getting worse, but compared to the bigger cities out there, I guess it could be worse. There is a great rest area out of town, where one can stop over for 48hrs. It’s only 13kms from my house and the views are fantastic when weather permits. Unfortunately I’ve been told not to lift much over 4kg due to the operation I just had, but I think lying down with my bino,s will suffice J
Sounds like it might be worth hunting for better grounds Wade? Even in light polluted areas I have managed to pull off a few good sessions…I guess it depends on the targets.
Hope you guys are doing well with the seeing or things are picking up at least.
