7.30 to 8.30. Followed by what looks to be an interesting doco on the history of terrorism.

I think this would be interesting. Wondering though it would be nice to have a controlled seperate forum TV Guide on Astronomy.

Hi mswhin63, :)

I like the idea. Perhaps run a poll to see how much interest there is in a TV guide on astronomy.

Cheers Marty

Just finished watching. Quite interesting, but not a lot new. Good to see the people that are so dedicated to the cause.
I think they should have a whip around at the BBC and get the camera a better lense without the colour aberations, a bit distracting :)

Just saw this on SBS. Very interesting topic. Some potentially good content, a nice summary of where things were at a few months ago.

BUT ... they needed a different documentary company/producer/director. Really, the needless "stringing it out", the excessive camera effects. Just HOLD THE CAMERA STILL! and better yet, IN FOCUS! :)

Oh well, worth watching all the same :)

I couldn't agree more, the camera work was so bad that I wanted to turn it off. Shots out of focus or wobbling to point of making me feel sick and what was that out of focus 'blob' thing that covered 1/4 of the screen during the interview?

Edit: Oh...and they filmed so much of the doco with a fish-eye lens that at one stage I thought the tele might be broken.

Good show but did they really need all of those effects? I found them distracting.

I found the effects rather sickening(nauseating), and had to stop watching after 45 minutes. Most of the time I had my eyes closed.

Aberations, shaky cam, artificial colours, convex/concave lenses...they only did these things to try to make the show different from the many shows that have already been done on the subject. They made it different alright, but not what they intended.

Totally agree, my wife thought i was asleep and tried to turn it off , I found it better to listen than watch it. I had to listen though because it was very good otherwise.

I enjoyed the show's content, especially since I have just finished reading Seth Shostak's book "Confessions of an alien hunter", there were a lot of people on the show who were mentioned in the book. As for the effects, yes...very ho humm, here we go again. Obviously they bought a "rainbow" and "soft focus" filter and paid so much they had to use it for the whole show. And a tripod would have been a good idea too.
