Where the Road meets the Mountains

Still wading through my NZ images.

One of the most exciting moments we enjoyed on the trip was shortly after we left Christchurch and were approaching the gorgeous Lake Tekapo area.

The view ahead was our first real clear view of the Southern Alps stretching left to right.

I stopped the car and waited for a clearing in the traffic to run onto the road and take a quick shot.

Nothing too amazing....more just an image which reminds me of an amazing moment:)

I like it Matt! I think it would've been better if you were standing right in the middle of the road, to centre it in the frame.

But the landscape is gorgeous!

No doubt.

I would really have liked to not only have gotten to the centre of the road but actually laid down to get a shot from bitumen level....but I really didn't have enough time.

That and the fact the South Island's roads are strewn with enough roadkill without adding my gizzards to the carnage!!:lol:

Gorgeous landscape. I actually don't mind the fact that you're not right in the middle. As it is, there's a black line going down the image which you've lined up perfectly against.
