While browsing around astronomy sites (as one does) I came across a site which I don't think has been reported before on IIS (I did a search). My apologies in advance if it has been reported previously on this forum.

The site presents an excellent run down on telescopes, accessories advantages, disadvantages, uses....... ideal for a beginner. It makes the perfect adjunct to Brian (Miaplacidus)'s intro. articles.

The site can be found at http://www.astronomics.com/main/category.asp/catalog_name/Astronomics/category_name/How%20to%20pick%20a%20telescope/Page/1

I believe that even more advanced members will find the site useful as it gives a description and a well reasoned assessment of a multitude of telescope types, sizes and brand-names as well as their pros and cons.
I feel the site is deserving of a "Sticky" label.

I've not come across this site before.
Excellent information and advice!
Well worth keeping as a sticky.

While it dosn't exactly say .. somone new to astronomy could easily read that a 100 mm refractor will show you as much as a 200mm newt ?
yet by there own comparision click ahead one the newt grabs a lot more light ...:)..Cloudy Nights is a fine resource for sorting what scope you might want to buy ... Astronomics would likely agree to:thumbsup:

Its a great read and fills a lot of gaps .
