Here's two more from Tuesday night. Both using the 400D/10" Newt combination. Too much light pollution and not enough subs but still great to be out there....

Another couple of nice images Peter. More is better but these two are not real bad images. Something to add to later.
Nice start for these.

What length exposures did you use? I'd be happy with them but i haven't started out on this journey ............................YET! LOL

I do like your M17.
The colours are subtle and you haven't pushed the processing so far that the swan's wings are burnt out.

Thanks Doug, Duncan and JJJ. The exposures were a combination of 6x1.5 and 6x2mins. That's about the maximum I can get away with in my location before the sky glow turns the background pink.

A couple of nice shots there Peter, you are really churning out some great stuff with the 400D/10" Newt combo.

the galaxy is showing some nice detail, as is the neb. i like the galaxy most as it shows the inner dust lanes... well done

you can add to these another night and push it even further. the images will then become smoother and allow you to do harder processing.

Done really well Peter considering the location and using the DSLR. Very nice detail in those onjects considering only 12-15min total. Need at least 60-90 min and it would be a great achievement from your location.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

I've been thinking 2mins is about as long as I can do with the light pollution so will try an experiment next decent night with both more and longer subs. I'm also planning to build a light box so should be able to improve the uneven illumination issues.
