Three from last night, it's been so long I've forgotten how to process images :) But not to worry, I'm just trying to get a feel for the new tak and qhy8 so I shot M20, M8 and ETA without the reducer, so F8 @ 800mm odd.

M8 is stacked subs of 2x10minutes, 6x5minutes and 6x2minutes although DSS threw a few out when stacking.

ETA was 12x5minutes but it should have been stacked as well I think, I'm not happy with the result on this one at all.

M20 was 12x5minutes plus I added one from last week which was shot with the reducer in.

One things for sure, this qhy8 drinks power, I need to rethink my power supply setup completely. A 4amp charger across an old car battery isn't going to cut it any longer :(

Yep all calibrated but there's something wrong with flats on the 3rd one I think. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Nice images Robin, The reducer will do a nice job of flattening the images. I understand your power problems. I no longer use the QHY8 when I don't have mains power.
Keep at your processing it will all come back. By the way Longer is much better with the QHY8 and FS combination.

Cheers guys, It's hard to play with the stuff with the weather we have. I've only had this scope out doors twice since I got it :( At least my dew system seems to work ok. Dying to try the little startlight camera on the tak as well.

I'll try long subs on the week-end doug. 10 chain hill christening is Saturday night. Fingers crossed for clear dark skies.

Awesome bunch of images Robin.. I am actually really liking the Eta shot... Composition could be a touch better, that said, its showing great detail..

This combo looks to be a real winner! :)

Ps.. Have you uploaded high res versions of these to your gallery? I'd love to see them BIGGER!! :)

Yeah after shooting it I realised I should have used that camera rotator I paid an arm and a leg for :) Used it on M8 though. Haven't had time to upload anything, work has picked up again :D

Cheers people, weather isn't looking too good for the more over the week-end :(

I have uploaded ETA and M8 to the web site but don't look too close at either, I see eggy stars in the corners of both and layering errors in M8, told ya I've forgotten how to do this :)

I think your stars have an odd stacking artefact that mine used to get... I never figured out what caused it, but I can post a few demonstrations of what mine did on occasion... It causes the center of the star to be "hollow" In your lagoon shot the milky way star field seems to show the same issue I had...
