In between clouds & rain I managed to get 3hrs of Lum data for my latest project. I've seen a few examples of this region recently and it's just a gorgeous field in colour. In aint half bad in B&W either! Hope you like it! If the clouds stay away I should get the colour data soon (fingers crossed!!)

I decided it was time to image at the native FL of the TOA as well for a change (1095mm) as opposed to 1760mm (1.6 extender) and 820mm (645 reducer). It yielded nice framing for this object.

Cheers, Marcus

I like it very much Marcus. Top work to dodge clouds for the data, always a tough gig.

I did see a TOA-150 at the Tak shop front in Tokyo (Akihabara) a few months back and woah momma! Talk about a storm water pipe!

Ooooh, that's nice Marcus and I agree it ain't half bad at all in B&W

You look to have handled everything very well so far, it should be a spectacular image when the colour is added.

....I want a permanent observatory :mad2:

You wasting my time Marcus? Where's the RGB data man...on with the show.:)

Nice one!

Ahh patience Jase, patience! :) I sure wish I lived out the back of woop woop to escape these blasted clouds!! I managed to gather 15 out of 24 RGB subs last night before they rolled in again. Add to that a computer glitch around 2:30 and I gave up in disgust. Tonight doesn't look promising either

Hey Mike, a permanent obs isn't all it's cracked up to be when it's located under permanently cloudy skies. Sometimes think about brushing the cobwebs off my tripod and going bush!!

Thanks to everyone for your kind remarks. :)

Cheers, Marcus

Don't worry about Jase, he has never liked B&W images, you and me are from an old vintage that still remembers that B&W was all there was once :P . I love the B&W versions becasue it throws me back down memory lane and my brain still has a soft spot (arhem, or two :D) for the B&W days.

Mate if I was just be able to go out and image in cloud breaks I bluddy well would, that's for sure :( :mad2:

Marcus, Marcus, Marcus......wow dude what a wonderful shot this is !!!
I can't wait for the full colour version if the mono is this good.

That TOA 150 is some piece of work too, I'm dying to give it a go.

Looking forward to more my friend.

Hey thanks a lot Andrew! Yep, the TOA is a fine piece of kit, especially when you use it at it's native FL. I've used what data I have (the clouds stopped me from getting all the data I wanted) and created a "preliminary" colour version. Not easy - I'm missing half the green channel data - but it's looking OK. I'll post soon when it's looking more presentable!

Cheers, Marcus
