All Clear in SEQ

This is the first totally clear night we've had in yonks!:D
So who's out amongst it tonight?
I'm busy gathering more data on M20-M21. (the hair dryer is working overtime cause the dew is horrendous)
I've seen one very bright meteor so far and heaps of smaller ones.:thumbsup::)

the dew here is running - and we have a small fog in the gully opposite the house - only a matter of time. not a breath of wind anywhere - you go get those photons JJJ

Love this basking in the star light. Soaking up the Universe. Very therapeutic to the soul.
The milky way is so bright I might have to put some sunnys on.:rofl:

Just got back from Toowoomba about an hour ago, rained all day yesterday and over night cleared up about mid morning a couple of hours before the end of conference and a wonderful clear sky when I got back to Roma and I'm too tired to do anything other than hitting the pillow. I will leave trying out my new camera adaptor until tomorrow.

The fog is starting to roll in now, making it's way up the hill.
Whenever a car drives up the road it illuminates the whole area like a floodlight.

Started observing at 09:00 ut 19:00 local time transparency 9-10 seeing brilliant the same 9-10
beautiful night :)
Did some real deep sky observing for an hour and a three quarters till the mist rolled in at 10:45 ut so called it a night:(
As you said Jeanette the dew was horrendous :scared:

I've finished with the Triffid and am working on The Helix now.
The North American Neb is next (It clears the trees for around 15 minutes, (no time for darks take them later) then I'm going to try to catch SN2009GJ.:thumbsup::D

Hey Guys, like Ron but without the transparency and seeing - saturated by 10pm!

I could tell that dew would kill the evening, so I didn't bother with the Mak. I had a play with the 20" and my DSI Pro III Colour - this was 41 x 8 second subs. I've done nothing more than stretch and crop as it was just a but of fun.

Looking forward to seeing some real results JJJ!

Lots of dew about, the dew heaters flattened my battery but got a few shots. Even got a few subs on eta as it peaked over my roof, can't normally see it from here. Looks like it's clear tomorrow too :)

Just came back in after getting wet with all the dew.

I tried getting some Jupiter shots but gave up after the secondary dewed up. Not happy....especially when I could see on the camera a transit shadow (well, what I thought looked like one.)

Good to see you got some time JJJ, waiting for the always excellent results.

Scope's-a-drippin wet but got some great viewing of Jupiter :D

Not looking good over this side. Thought it would clear by the weekend, but the sat pic and forecast says otherwise. Looks like it could be a while before I can try out the new field flatenner. :( Glad someone is getting a few chances to observe though, especially you guys in the NE, you've had it rough for quite a while.

Yep, I spent an hour or so with the scope outside having a look at a few favourites last night. Then I got up at 5am hoping to head down to the local park to capture the HST passing Venus Mars and Mercury but couldn't see a thing due to the fog.

I'm planning to go camping late next week (school holidays), so hopefully there will be clear (and dark) skies then as well.
