First Mars with 5x powermate!

Hi guys.

I picked up my new 5x powermate on Friday, and of course have been praying for good seeing, but my wish hasn't been granted yet.

Here's my image from this morning at around 1am. The seeing started out as "ok" but got worse quickly. My first avi for the night turned out to be the best, the rest of them were even worse than this.

I'm liking the image scale the powermate gives, and I can't wait for a night of good seeing to get a decent image. The "soft" out of focus look of this image is due to the seeing.

"Objects may appear be closer that they are", big bold and getting there Mike, all you need is some good conditions!

Top photo though :thumbsup: , is the fact that it is not sharp due to the fact the drool hasn't been wiped off yet on the powermate:D . You can't blame the jet stream all the time :poke: :rofl:

Mate when things do hit the mark it will be a wonderful shot worthy of any Hubble shot! :cool:

Hey Mike the image scale is very similar to mine with a 2.5x Powermate. Maybe should have used my 5x last night, but thought that the seeing was not up to it. Nice details present and image scale is good too.

this little piece of magic eyeware, must make the trip with the rest of the eyepieces in the front seat of the car on the purple royal cushion. The car sick better half will understand why she is in the back with the three kids!

Top stuff Mike! With the seeing being a direct factor whether or not you can use the 5X it will be interesting to note how often you get to image successfully (statistically speaking)

With your worst shots being far better than my best shots....I look forward to seeing your worst shots! lol..
