What started out as an entry in the "X prize" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ansari_X-Prize) has now turned into an entrant in the new Lunar Lander Challenge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_Lander_Challenge). Armadillo Aerospace run by John Carmack of Quake fame.

John Carmack is almost a god! He had a huge impact on the R&D of Nvidia video cards and Directx9 prior/post Doom 3.
