well again the question comes back to what are you going to be using - just the mount or heaters, cameras laptop etc?

I have 4 x 100 amp hour batteries - one for the mount, one for dew, one for cooled camera and one for laptop - guaranteed one full night from dusk to dawn. Also have two 30 watt solar panels and another 2 10 watt solar panels and 2 24AH and 2 17AH jump starter batteries just in case. I have used one of these to power a powered USB hub, drive a second camera and another laptop at a moments notice.

thats a good question, i never thought of that !

EQ6, 9" Netbook for autoguiding, autoguider itself (taking draw from USB) that should be it.

Dont forget your camera! 1000d batteries dont last long in cold weather, you will need a power adapter and an inverter for it.

I can get about 40mins of exposures out of the camera battery at 15deg, I have been told it gets shorter as the temp drops.

Huh? I get 4 hours or so out of my 350 Trevor. 40 minutes is ridiculous!

Might have been new battery syndrome. But either way, running from a PS means I no longer have to worry.

If you want a good manufacturer of deep cycle batteries, try "Trojan".
The addage that goes with batteries though, "you get what you pay for".
