Hi,

While driving myself around Pavo tonight using remote desktop
I found this beautiful little cluster of mag 11.5-12.5 galaxies
very close by to the globular cluster NGC6752, itself a fine object.
I was actually heading for NGC 6744 (a mag 8.5 galaxy)...
another night :)

Very still and foggy tonight and the seeing is still excellent.
No sharpening was needed on this set of 194 of 300 frames.
Bad frames culled mostly due to periods of high cloud.Harsh!

All captured from the warmth of the house...<grins>

Nice work Steve – these groupings of galaxies are quite something to look at. I’m surprised that the faint detail wasn’t obscured by the fog!

NGC6744 is a real beauty – I look forward to your image!

Cheers

 with all those 1000's of objects it's all too easy to be distracted...and from the comfort of your armchair, you lucky, lucky...

Yes what a nice surprise that must have been while sipping hot cocoa at your laptop :P and a nice capture to boot.

That galaxy grouping is indeed in close proximity to arguably the nicest globular cluster in the sky too:

and the 4 galaxies in question when you add some colour:

The sky is an ever revealing surprise, huh?
