Nice image Rob, Focus and guiding look good. You need to start and use a full set of calibration files. Flats will get rid of the nasty shading in the corners of the image and help to present the image better overall.
Keep at it.

Well, I am about to get some flatfields. What about bias calibration? Is this recommended also?
Cheers, Rob :)

Rob, Bias frames are taken just like darks, with the lens cover on the scope.. The difference is that Bias frames are of the shortest possible exposure your camera can do.. This will remove the read out noise of the camera, where as darks remove dark current noise, and bad pixels...
I really like this image, but agree with Doug.. once you start calibrating these images you'll be producing some really nice work... It took me weeks, months actually, to listen to Doug, when I finally did, my images came leaps and bounds... Flats make an amazing difference to images taken with SCT's.. as SCT's dont have the biggest image circle...
Best of luck with your calibration frames..

I appreciate the advice. I have had a lot of feedback on my posts and appreciate everyones input. I know I still have a long way to go. There is a lot to learn.

There sure is a lot to learn, but every little step brings a definite sense of achievement... You're well on your way.. and I dare say you've already got that warm little sense of achievement... I know if my first few images turned out like yours I would too! :)
