Since NGC 6188 is a large complex this image focuses on the reflection nebula.

LRGB image 3hr L, 1hr R, 1hr G, 1hr B BRC-250 ST-X10ME.

Wow. That is so nice. Love the various tints of blues and greens. What scope was this taken with?

Man :doh:don't people actually read the posts...? MARC!!!!!!

The number of times people have asked questions about an image when the info is either in the post or under the image, is quite alarming :scared:

The old care factor me thinks..?

Nice job Steve, quite natural looking.

Do you have a bigger chip to take advantage of the BRC's big corrected image circle?

Thanks Mike.

If only! The use of small chip CCDs is a throwback to the days when I used a C11.

It brings up the question whether it is technically possible to upgrade a CCD camera to a larger chip instead of buying the complete outfit for a substantial cost.

Thanks Marc, Trevor, Alex, Mike, Miaplacidus, Lester and Doug for your comments.

A BRC-250 was used for imaging.

 Oops! Right. I saw it now BRC 250. Not familiar with that scope. I recognised ST-X10ME but missed the characters before as begin part of the exposure times. Selective vision. I should read more but I was just captivated by the picture - That's my excuse anyway... does this qualify?

Nice image Steven, the BRC is a lovely telescope and really deserves a STL11k on it. However this image shows great detail and colour.

You're pumping out some lovely images for sure there Steven - I really like this one. I know you like the "natural" look (whatever that is :D) but I can't help feeling there's a greenish cast over the image that hides a bit of it's magic. I took the liberty of playing with it to remove the cast and to impart a more gem-like quality - see attached - sure hope you don't mind.

In any case a great shot!:thumbsup:

Thanks Prokyon.

Thanks Marcus.
There's no issues with playing with the image.

It's interesting that objects that emit the blue Hb emission, come out blue/green. It may reflect some overlap in the bandwidths of the blue and green filters.

I dunno.. you get a wider field of view and 11mp.. but the ST10XME gives better stellar resolution and much higher QE.. I'd stick with the ST10XME :)

The other advantage is being able to present images at high resolution and not worrying about dial up users dying of old age waiting for the download.:)
