Evening Forest Scene

Magnificent late evening light bathes this forest scene in a soft glow.

This image was made around the Lake Gunn area.

Another beauty Humayun. Although not a misty image, it has a misty moist 'feel' to it...feels like a unicorn might walk through the scene, or some of the fairies from Shakespear's A Mid Summer Nights Dream might suddenly appear then drift back into the coming forest evening looking for a warm dry place to bunker down for the night.

When I worked as a fire assayer standing in front of 1000+ degree furnaces as big as refrigerators, I had a poster of a rainforest scene on the wall.
It was my safe place to go when it all got too much in hell.

This is a perfect "safe place" to meditate on, peaceful, as old as the world yet full of life.
The only downside is that it's not desktop size. ;)

Wow, I'm glad you picked that up. That's exactly what I see. I'm a big fan of neoclassical painting and I think it's slowly starting to come across in my work.

Thanks for the compliment.

Unfortunately, that's the worst type of lens you could possibly use (apart from fisheye) for portrait photography, due to the barrel distortion of wide-angled lenses; it makes people look funny (think of big noses and elongated features). It's not that noticeable when you do landscapes, and, if it is noticeable, you can use the native software to correct for the distortion.

Thank you so much! I'm so pleased that you can note the moist look to the image. It was quite cold and wet there and I think I may have had the slightest amount of condensation build up on my lens which has added to the effect.
