Hi All
What do you think the maxim time exposure is for a 22mm lens on a standard 35mm camera before star trails are noticeable
Just wondering

Hi Vars
In Michael Covington’s book “Astrophotography for the Amateur” he has the following details for a 35mm SLR film camera with a lens of focal length 24mm:
Declination 00° : 40 secs
Declination 30° : 50 secs
Declination 40° : 60 secs
Declination 60° : 85 secs
Declination 75° : 160 secs
He also writes that you should expose for 1/3 less than the above suggested times for really sharp images.
Cheers
Dennis
