I took this last night with a near full moon high in the sky. It doesn't seem to have affected the final image too badly, but I'll make the effort to duplicate it during new moon so I can make a comparison.

Camera - Canon20D
Scope - SW ProEd 80
Mount - Mini Tower
23min 40secs of exposure time
71 subs
36 @ ISO 800 & 35 @ ISO 1600

Very nice image Jeanette.

I'm impressed how you have kept the sky background neutral under near full moon condtions.

Yes, well done JJJ! Often we see m57 up close and that's grand. But there is also something quite awesome about seeing it hanging there in space as in your image. Also I am a bit of a tragic too when it comes to getting out during the full moon and trying to see deep sky things. I am amazed at some of the images I can get even though it looks like lunch time!

Keep up the effort - your images are improving all the time.

Nice colour in the ring too. sadly its too far north for me to get from my place, but might manage it at the Newcastle Astro Society's next viewing night from Shortland. Thats if the weather ever allows.
