Saturated full moon

Here's my first attempt at a colour saturated moon image. I think I've gone a bit too far on the saturation and could probably play with the colour balance to bring out some different highlights but still a bit of fun.

It shows that the Moons surface is not just made of all the same stuff.

I used a 10" Newtonian and a Canon 400D to take this image. It's a stack of about 4 of short frames - I'd have to look at the exif info to remember the speed/iso as I tried a number of different settings.

A nice tidy image Peter – well done. I like these types of mildly enhanced images; they reveal some quite subtle and interesting differences, otherwise not easily visible.

Thanks for the comments Allan, Paul, Mike and Dennis. I'm really pleased with the new imaging combination. Having one shot colour definitely has its advantages. I'm really looking forward to giving it a try at a dark site.

Mike, I'm assuming it's possible to adjust the contrast with some curves? I'll give that a try.

Dennis, I've been admiring your colour moon images and wanting to try this but just didn't have enough mega-pixels with the DSI to allow the saturation to be pushed without the colour becoming blocky.
