To see these images you have to let your eyes get lazy and there will be a image forming in the middle with depth.
Enjoy (or not :P ).

It works great for me, but I find going crosseyed works best. I blend the 2 images into one, and then the depth appears.

I used to really like those magic-eye books. These work well. It looks like two images on two sheets of glass, one behind the other.

Search the net and you'll find lots of animated 3d stereograms. Drive your brain crazy. No astro ones however - I guess the sky isn't animated on any reasonable timeframe!

Eric, a few years ago I found some other astro-stereograms, wish I could find them again.
While not attempting to detract from Martins fine efforts, the ones I saw weren't confined to two distinct planes.
