Only used a couple of times. I bought it for collimating my SCT, but they don't work like the manufacturers say:(, however, it will still work in a Newtonian! Has an angled target so it will be easy to see during alignment. $150 plus delivery

Hi, Have you tried any adjustment on the collimator?

When I got it, the beam was a little out so I adjusted it. One of the other problems is also that it does not fit snuggly in the focusser tube. If you simply put the laser in and take note of where the return dot is located. Then take it out and put it back in, to the "same" position, the beam is in a slightly different position, ie. using a laser for an SCT has very low reproducability, ideally it should be in the same spot each time, not a problem with a Newt since you are not bouncing the beam off a curved secondary surface. This gives a very short light path, maybe less than half a metre. In a Newt, the light path is likely to be a couple of metres.
