I've been wanting to purchase a Paracorr since Astrofest last year so I can use my DSLR with the 10" Newt. I finally got round to it about a month ago and tonight was my first opportunity to give it a try.
Here's the first test shot using my 400D and 10" Newt. This is 3x30 secs unguided (that's all I could manage before the clouds rolled in). Hopefully I'll get some more time tomorrow night!

Great work Peter... Bet you were happy to give it a fly, despite only getting a minute and a half worth of data... I bet you cant wait till new moon to get some guiding going and have a crack at 5 minute exposures with this new setup!
I was about to setup on dusk tonight, but my instinct told me to check the BOM site, saw a large cloud band moving in from the west.. within an hour the sky was hidden by the blanket of cloud that resides there still...
I should have known better than to get all excited thinking i'd get to use my new SBIG on the first saturday night that I have it!! Heres hoping for better luck tomorrow night!

I'm with you Alex - I was expecting the cloud to roll in but it's been so long I thought I'd give it a try.
Tomorrow night is looking promising - lucky it's a long weekend.

Nice one Peter. Only 1.5 minutes. Very nice tight stars. It will look great with a bit more exposure time to give it a bit of colour and depth in the field. Looking forward to seeing the final result.

looking nice at the edges - do you have a pre-paracor version or have you destroyed all the evidence?!

Jonathan,
I don't have a pre-paracor version because was unable to achieve focus without the paracor previously although I haven't tried again since we set to the OTA last weekend. I'll give it a try tonight.
