So I have to entertain myself in other ways:-

I like Tom Lehrer's work.

(and I once was a chemist - I think I'm something else now?)

Love it Eric. Have of course heard it all before (I too was a chemist -industrial variety) but these are great. In particular the last with the youngster trying to wrap his tongue around the names.
Skies have cleared in Melbourne today and hopefully will remain that way until at least mid-night. There's some good stuff up there at the moment to peer at. :astron:

Lucky you. I have to get on a plane and fly elsewhere - no stars for me tonight  Have a great night - except for that 94% Moon!

Oh, that is bad luck, especially after so many clouded nights. Can't you put your scope on the plane and peer through a port-hole. I'll be going to the ASV club-rooms with their 20" Le Marquand relector. Hopefully looking east we will be able to avoid a lot of moonshine.
Have a safe trip.

Tis funny. You don't know how much you miss using the scope, till you've lived in Melbourne or thereabouts...

I only yesterday complained to my wife of sky deprivation sickness. Although in a way, it hasn't been too bad because we have both had heavy colds in that time, and probably sojourns in the rather coolish Melbourne nights :cold: may not have been the best medicine.
Tonight is looking good (in spite of the moon). :stargaze:

I have done every day for weeks. Don't know why I bother - not a bit of sympathy. :(

Funny that.

I'll see your Melbourne and raise you a Wollongong. :help:

Cloud, rain and now evening fog with heavy dew.

I seem to be copping the lot lately.

Ever since I fixed my eye on the Eye of God (Helix) over a new moon period, I have had nothing but cloud. Not much rain either, which makes it even more pointless.....

Melbourne's back with cloud and light rain after a clearish night on Friday. Oh well, just study the charts, look at pictures and dream.
