12in dob, ccd cam dmka21..the last one was taken when the mist cleared up, but the batteries on the pc died so i had to stop till i ran a lead from the power point , by that time the mist rolled in...It was so clear i could see the detail on the screen. Couldnt believe the battery died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats a pretty good effort for a Dob,

Is this a monochrome CCD with a filter wheel?
If it is you are doing a top job and your final image is very good.

Stephen, not sure how you are going about recording the info on your images.

I record all time in local and UTC as well as camera settings.
Brightness, Gamma, Gain, fps, exposure, ambient temp, primary mirror temp.

If you already do that then disregard this.

By recording every pertinent detail, I use a printed out spreadsheet for this, so I have a hard copy, you have a record of what settings produced what result and you can use that as the basis for developing your technique.

From the IIS Resources site I would suggest you download the following.

Als Clock. This shows your local time and UTC among other things.

Als Reticle. This will superimpose a reticle that you can move around, over your capture screen, making it easier to keep the image you are capturing, central on the screen.

There are further steps you could take but I would suggest using these for starters.

By recording the UTC you can then calculate the CM (Central Meridian) this will allow you to identify individual features.
