View Full Version here: : Jupiter, May 28
Well, nothing special about this image - seeing was quite poor but I'm just happy to have no cloud or fog for a change, it's been a while since I could even see Jupiter :-)

Whoa Bird,
Thanks for posting this image, it's nice to know that even you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.;)
I can relate to the satisfaction of getting an image, even an ordinary image, when the weather has conspired against you for a while.
I keep telling people how good the seeing is out here but over the last few weeks it has been very ordinary to pretty crook. When it came good early this week I just couldn't get down to my observatory quick enough.
Making the effort consistently to do the early morning shift on Jupiter in the hope of good seeing takes a bit of dedication, a quality that you consistently demonstrate with your work. So yes, I agree with you that this is indeed an ordinary image, but I applaud you for making the effort to capture it.
Looking forward to some more descent seeing and to what you can produce with it.
Regards
Trevor
Thanks Trev, the easterly around here brings truly awful seeing - out here again this morning but I think it's worse than yesterday :-)
Saw a nice sight though, Ganymede going into occultation on one side and Io coming across in front from the other... pity about the seeing but it was still fun to watch.
cheers, Bird

Still some nice detail visible, Anthony. Great to see you back out there.

Just come in from cold windy partly cloudy Melbourne, I was taking photos of jupiter. If your shot is average mine should be deleted and never looked at. Nice shot..
PS I am new.....Steve.

Even with the conditions given Anthony, I like viewing the subtle detail avariations that are showing through the soft image.
Still well done.
