Cresent Nebula I decided to try out my OIII clip in filter for my Canon 40D this is a total of 10 hrs 5 hrs OIII and 5hrs HA both Astronomik 13nm filters after alot of time combining and playing around I decided the OIII needs alot more time maybe 10 hrs on its own so I combined HA for Red and OIII for Green and Blue processed in Registar and CS2

had alook at both the large and original, its a little soft considering the beautiful image of the two galaxies you took. i suspect this is not a modded camera ..... ? and therefore Ha is difficult .

Not bad work there Les. Using narrowband to produce a traditional RGB can be complex. I would suggest you weight the green and blue channels more to provide great balance. You can mask the effect if you want to maintain the rich Ha details reds you've obtained. Thanks for sharing this target, I've always found it interesting, but never tried giving it a shot. May consider it for this season. Well done.

This is a moded camera I dont think the OIII works to well with the DSLR and needs alot more time for it to work,
This is not an easy place in the sky to process because of the amount of nebula in the area its very hard to actually find a blackpoint.
I also tried a new method of processing by removing the stars then stretching the area with levels and curves then putting the stars back into the image all trial and error I think it worked out ok for now
