Below are two images of M80 in Scorpius from a HDR done in March and a HDR from data collected last night. There is a variable? star in the center of the image. The stars brightening is in all the raw images. Anyone know anything about it. North is to the left and East down.

From the GCVS catalog I'd say it's R Sco, Mira, 9.8 - 15.5 mag, 224 day period.
Might need to confirm that though. :D

AAVSO light curve shows it's almost peaking, and brightening.

Would love to do animations of variables some day, very cool.

Thanks Justin R Sco coords do match quite well. It also starte off red which is consistent with a Mira type variable. Now I see a star brightening at the top of M 80.
