Test Shots of Eta Carinae and Pavo using C8 SCT and 9x50 Finder with Starshoot Autoguider, HEQ5 Mount with Synscan.

Pavo 160s Exposure, ISO 800, Processed with Corel Photopaint
Eta Carinae 3x1 min Exposures, ISO 800, Processed with Deep Sky Stacker
Oops, this should be 3x104s Exposures

To me, the stars look like they could be rounder and sharper.

I think you'll find that a bit of fine tuning will see you guiding with that 9x50 finder without issue.. It looks like a real good start to me! :)

Well done mate. Keep on imaging, as Trevor said, more exposure is the best thing you can do for an astro image... You are definitely on your way..

Nice start Rob. A little more work with guiding and focus and lots more exposure time and it will be a bottler.
