2. Please avoid profanity, we're trying to encourage a family atmosphere and sense of community.

I've noticed over the past few weeks that the cr word is being used to try to get around the sh word. Lets collectively try to think of some way of expressing strong feelings but in a way that may not offend people. If you feel the need for strong expression maybe try Morks famous "Shazbut". (noone seemed to remember that TV prog :) )

6. Avoid topics about race, politics or religion. These can be very sensitive topics and it can be very easy to take things the wrong way, creating arguments

The latest round of bombings in Bali is a deep tragedy. Emotions will be running high. Please think carefully and re-read your post before you actually post it.

Thanks everyone
Paul

Even moderators have been using the cr word... I think it's considered very tame and inoffensive by most, not like swearing at all; e.g., it's used on a number of G-rated episodes of the Simpsons... But if you don't like it I don't mind not using it.

Guilty as charged :ashamed:

I think a reasonable guideline is not to use language or innuendo that you wouldnt use in front of your grandmother.

I know there was a recent thread about petrol prices and comments about a certain politician were being made. One poster has stepped over the line and a few others came quite close to it . If a pro Howard person entered the fray it could have become very nasty. Best to keep well clear of politics.
