NGC5128, 5.5 hours

Hi all
I added more data, this time 17x10 mins with UV/IR filter only, on the 300mm f2.8 lens from Bert stopped down using external aperature stop to around f5. Added to an earlier nights run using the LPS filter, it now totals 5.5 hours, my longest imaging run ever.

Considering im doing this from light polluted Newcastle its really pushing things. Not as deep as Mike's mighty award winning effort, but a nice exercise to see how deep I can go from Newcastle :)

Great effort Scott, you can just start to make out the hocky stick shape (with a bulge in the handle) in your image.

Ah can never spend enough time with Cen A...we have something going on I think? :love2:

Here is some dust (galactic cirrus)? A barely noticable slight brightening in the indicated part of my image. Ive included a contrast enhanced DSS image as comparison.

Im really glad Mike took his winning deep image, it shows us what what is out there to be capture and is a great inspiration :)

Astounding! 5128's halo is so very extensive!

It amazes me just how many stars are actually out there, not to mention how many you can get into one field of view! :)
