I bought one of these yesterday and am going to use it for camping
etc.. and I'm going to grab one of those cheapo hair dryers for dewy
nights.. couple of questions

How much power do those dryers draw?

How best to charge a deep cycle battery .. I have a small arlec 4 amp charger.. reason I ask is I just cooked my little 2 amp sealed acid
(24 hours was to long eh?)

Btw I havn't got the battery yet but will probably grab a 80 or 100 amp.

cheers graham

The camping hair dryer I have can pull up to 5A.....
The best investment I made re chargers was the electronic triple stage charger "Battery Fighter" Model BFA-012-230 (www.batteryfighter.com (http://www.batteryfighter.com))
I use this all the time to keep my collection of 20Ah gel cell batteries up to scratch. I haven't "lost" a battery since using it ( over two years now)
Highly recommended.

Invest in a decent electronic charger, use the Arlec one as a doorstop, practise shot-put into the wheelie bin or hammerthrow(swing it over your head with the mains cord) or something, anything other that putting it on a battery.

Yeah that arlec charger is strange cattle Simon .. I was given it almost new .. for good reason:lol:.. It sometimes without popping its fuse
or stopping makeing battery charger sounds just refuses to put any charge in a battery.. My son warned me .. but I still (not) charged a battery and dragged it way out bush to find it ..:P flat
