Any home cinema/theatre enthusiasts around here?...
I am after a good projector exclusively for watching movies on DVD. I already have access to a basic projector, Sanyo PLV-Z1, which I bought for someone else for under $700. For that amount of money, it's unbelievably good, and for movies on DVD I will always prefer the projector to the TV screen.
But the Z1 has noticeable pixelation (when sitting close-ish to the screen), crops the DVD image (as most projectors do, and all TVs do even more severely), and has trouble showing detail in dark scenes because of lack of contrast.
So I want a projector with higher resolution (pref. 1280x720) and better contrast (1500+:1) and all that for around $2000-2500. And it must not crop component PAL video input by more than 1%, but preferably not at all.
Any advice/suggestions?
