Excellent shot Darrell, especially from an unmodded camera. I too like the detail you've achieved in the Bok globules and around the nebula's periphery. And you've captured that little reflection nebula lower left very well.

Hey jjj. I set up down by the lake after a very kind local property owner let me into a cowfree paddock.(bit of paddockbashing in the kombie)I always head up Kilcoyway from Redcliffe because your sky is so beautiful.(Redcliffe is the lightpollution capital of the world!) Might bump into you one moonless night! :)

I'm half way between Woodford and Kilcoy, on Mary Smokes Creek.
The skies are beautiful aren't they. A little sky glow from Brissie, but I can live with that.
Have you been up to Cambroon Obs. yet?

Most new moons, a group of us head up, down or over to Kenilworth for a Star Party at Astroron's place at Cambroon Observatory. It will be held on the 23rd of May.

Nice image with good attention to detail. Just one comment though. I think the center of the nebula is a little too blue, however the stars on the outside look to be the right colour.

This is a great image. I can't wait to get out to the SPSP next week for some dark skies so that I can really give my 1000d a good work out.
I am so sick of city skies.
