Hi Guys what can I say, is this sweet or not, gone totally Tak.

Yep, my last addition was the Guide scope, the FS 60mm, and now it is Tak heaven.

I intend to give it a run tonight. ;)

Leon

That green glow you can see in the SE is probably coming from me. Looks fantastic Leon. Hope you have a good nights viewing.
Clear skies,
Robert

Thanks Guys, as most of you know I have always had the FSQ, plus the WO80mm as guide scope, then the opportunity came along to purchase the Tak, or, Baby Tak as I call it.

So I thought, how good would that be mounted on the FSQ, so the WO is gone, plus some surplus gear, and now I'm left with what you see. ;)

I'm a happy camper.

Excellent marriage of two very fine instruments Leon :)

I'll look into an FSQ this year I think - it's been on my list for a long time. I'm interested to hear what you think of the 60 as a guidescope. I love mine!

Interesting move with the guide ring at the front, and the Tak clamshell at the rear. I have two clamshells holding mine down, but the ring would give some measure of axial adjustment - all you'd need to do is partially loosen the clamshell and then nip it up when you've moved to where you want to be. Nice! I find that I've not yet needed adjustment as the QHY5 is so sensitive, and I find that I can pretty-well always find a star.

Reports, please! :)

Well mate, I did a trial run to see if PHD would work through the 60mm.

I did, and it guided beautifully, ;) thanks for your help.

You should feel proud!

Nice one Leon. Totally overkill for a guide scope, but when you can do it, why not. Perhaps get some fittings for your camera to do some wide field work though you've got your lenses for that. Indeed, a nice addition to the family.

You're just missing one piece of take gear there Leon. That being the the Tak mount for it to be totally Tak.:P

Nice gear. I really like all my Tak gear, despite how much it cost. I got to tell you though there is nothing like a Tak mount for precision. Moving the alt and az knobs is just superb for polar alignment. So off you go and get a Tak mount now.;)

Chris, Paul is right, its not totally Tak yet... But its CLOSE!.

Ps.. Get an astrophysics mount... Tak mounts are nice, but they're no AP900/1200 GTO3...

Leon,

That looks superb. I might just have to come down to Victoria and image with you some time. :)

Cheers for the WO FD80. :~)

Bugger I did not actually think of the Mount as being inclusive for Totally Tak Heaven .

But I think the G11 will serve me well, and I just might leave it at that.

Anytime H, anytime mate, ;) the FD80mm is on it's way.
