Ok so I have all the needed equipment for guiding......I have yet to try drift alignment.....is there anyone in the Perth area, South of the river, that would be willing to come over and lend a hand and show me what needs to be done.
I have read all the drift Alignment threads in the world (slight over exageration) and still do not feel like I know what to do.
Is it really that hard or is it just me :help::P
I can bring my gear to you if you prefer.
Any offer appreciated
cheers

hints and tips also appreciated
Hi,
Have you tried using software first to help you with alignment?
I have started with EQalign which is free and does the job nicely. Point the scope in the direction the software tells you, let it do its work and it will tell you how to rotate your mount.
In this process you can also learn how to do drift alignment manually...

G'day Mart
Drift alignment is not too difficult after you get the hang of it. It's best to start with the scope aligned as closely to the SCP as possible then you will only have to make minor adjustments. There is a good article in the articles and projects section of this site (link below). Software as Luka mentioned can also be very useful for this purpose and there are a number of options available.
