It's a bit rough but It is the closest thing to the magazine pictures I have produced. No darks, no flats. Adjusted levels on red, blue and green and curves in Gimp
F 6.3 ISO 800 1 x 79 sec Gimped FL 31.0 mm.

Excellent golden colours! Looks a little 'soft' - was focus out?
For a single shot, it's great!

I used the EOS utility on remote shooting, aimed it at Jupiter zoomed in and focused the best I could. Then turned 90 degree and hoped for the best. Used the 18-55 mm lens Focal length was at 31.0 mm ?? I think it was in the processing that it softened. I will try and post the raw image so you can compare and play with yourselves......

Had to convert it to a jpg and resize to 1024 to upload to photobucket. This is what I started with.

Just a bit confused about what you mean by it is a bit soft? Soft on focus? Soft in depth? Could be sharper, better tracked? Just trying to comprehend what I am missing and where. Is it in the set up of equipment or the processing thanks in advance. :confuse2:

I think focus might be a bit soft or maybe your tracking is a bit off. It could be sharper. I don't think you've done anything wrong in your processing. It's actually pretty good.

I think I may have been a bit off on the tracking side of things but that will come with time. Hell of a lot of light pollution here lately, I need to get back out to my dark sky spot with the camera. Thanks for the help.
