Hi all,
I captured this image of Jupiter and Europa shadow this morning in 5/10 seeing with some very steady moments that were dominated by turbulance due to a gentle breeze comming off of the land.
This image was captured with 2x Meade ED barlow, that to my surprise produced a larger image than the new Bintel 2.5x barlow that I tried for the first time.
Nice one Lester. Still got some detail showing through and the colour balance looks very nice.
I think you're being generous with your estimate of the seeing conditions, though;)

Nice work Lester, looks about right to me. Small round shadow and some white spots still visible - i'd probably rate it 5-6/10.
Though I haven't seen over 5/10 all year :) Except for this morning, I hope. I have an image from about the same time waiting to be processed.
Don't sweat it, Mike.
I was just having a bit of fun with Lester re: the seeing. But thanks for your opinion.:)

Thanks Matt, Mike and Greg for your comments.
regarding seeing, Matt; I am still getting a grip on anythning above 4/10. The seeing is really just an average estimate, with some below and some above.
Looking forward to seeing your image Mike.

Hi Lester,
Nice image considering the seeing. You should get a better go at it now that the crook weather seems to be dissipating.
Lester, is that the model 140 2x?
I have had the model 140 for about 15 yrs and am also most pleased with it's performance although all of my current work is with a Bintel 3x, think I might have to save up for a 4x Powermate.
Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing more.
PS: Do you have the DMK yet?
Regards
Trevor

Hi Trevor and thanks for your comments. I don't think mine is a 140; it is only 4 years old.
Yes got a DMK, but as its not USB, I am told it may not be compatable with PHD guiding program. I got the firewire DMK because it was old stock purchased when the Aussie dollar was very high.
So I may be returning it for a USB type DMK.
