I had a quick imaging run last night after spending some time re-establishing my polar alignment. Decided to try some longer (4 min) subs with the ED80.
Here's 15x4 min with the DSI II pro/ED80 combination from Brissie.

Nice. There is plenty of potential in that for a colour shot. I must try with my Zenithstar sometime...
The seeing was good last night. I tried a little myself, but nothing worth going public!

Thanks Jonathan. I forgot you had that ZS. You'll get a nice wide field with the ZS and the DSI III. If you get some good colour we should get Allan to do the registar treatment.
Certainly nice detail coming out in there

4 min subs now? I told ya! :) Good results. Easier to process with those longer subs?

Thanks Rob and Frank. The conditions here were quite good on Thursday night although there was a bit of smoke about from a fire. I'm thinking the image is probably a bit under-sampled (3.6 arcsec/pixel) with this combination.
Troy, the 4 min subs meant I did a lot less stretching than I would with 1 min however the galaxy core is over exposed so to get a really good image I'd end up having to layer some shorter subs into this image.

Very nice image Peter, Needs that bit more focal length.
A bit of colour data will finish this shot off very well.

Thanks Doug. I was having a read of Robert Reeves book on webcam astrphotography. If I understand what he's saying it looks like somewhere around 1.4 arcseconds per pixel is where I really need to be.
I was planning to get some RGB data (if the clouds go away) and try my first LRGB.
