Hi

It's been a while since I have posted any images due to moving house and Sydney's continual cloudy nights. So I decided a holiday was in order so I joined the Sutherland Astronomy Society for our Mudgee Star Party held over the last new moon cycle. 9 great nights at Mudgee Observatory, 5 clear 2 so so and 2 more in line with Sydney's nights over the past 6 to 8 months.

Among my data I have come up with these three;
Rho Ophiuchi 130 minutes 13x10 minute subs.
Football Cluster, NGC3532, 50 minutes 5x10 minute subs.
Eta Carina 300 minutes 18x10 and 20x6 minute subs.

All frames captured, stacked and calibrated (flats, darks and bias) in Maxim DL V5 and post processing PS CS2. Orion Star Shoot Pro/Tak FSQ106N guided with Meade DSI2/ED80 on my EQ6.

My favourite is Rho Ophiuchi, although with more data and better framing it really could have had some real wow to it. Eta Carina, I hadn't imaged it at a dark site I just had to do it and the Football Cluster was well just there so why not :).

Hope you like them and I look forward to your feedback.

Regards
Wayne

Thanks for the feedback Trevor, Steve and Frank. Looks like the winner is Rho. Shame I didn't nail the framing as I am sure I could have also fit the smaller reflection nebula IC4603 in to the same FOV - always next time, which will hopefully be tomorrow night.

Thanks again and have a good weekend.

Nice images but Rho is the pick of the litter.

That Rho shot is absolutely beautiful, you must be pleased with that. Certainly is a colourful area to image.

Awesome shots Wayne!
Rho is a real winner - so much detail, deserves a second look
2 & 3 are excellent as well

Thanks for the feedback guys. It was the first time I had imaged Rho and apart from the framing being off by a meagre 90 degrees I'm pretty stoked with it, shame I couldn't have got more from the dark skies at Mudgee.

Bryan - I have some more photos from a walk Matt and I did to Castle Rock including an Eagle at full flight which I will get out there once I finish off some of the other astro data.

the crowd likes the rho shot...me too. nice detail in the smokey stuff, its a nice perspective as most shoot it super widefield, drew my eye even from the thumbnails
