Hi All

I did this image the same night as the Tarantula in my previous posting.

I really like the flat plate looking galaxy to the left of M100 ... don't know what it is. If anyone knows, and I'm sure someone will, let me know.

Hi Steve,

Nice image. The edge on spiral galaxy is NGC 4312. It's about Mag 12 and not a difficult visual target from good skies in medium (>10") aperture.

Cheers,
John B

Great image Steve, the fainter galaxies around the spiral really set it of nicely.

A very clear and detailed image as well.

cheers

Nice shot Steve :) I was looking at M100 and NGC 4312 at the Barambah Dark Sky camp last weekend, your photo brought back the memories of a great weekends observing.
In the 16" with a wide field eyepiece they make a fine pair:)
Thanks for posting:thumbsup:

I think you were right Doug ... bloody LCD's ... look at them one way and then look at them again at a slightly different angle and everything looks different

Anyway I've adjusted and reposted the image ... I think it's a bit better now ... but then again I've just moved my head ... ooooops

Great image Steve. There's quite a few small galaxies in there.
