Some northerrn galaxies M51, M101

[Irish stargazer]

Hi

Here is my latest attempt at imaging using a Canon 450D and CGE11 from my backgarden. The pictures show some vignetting and are a bit blue due to the CLS filter used. I don't have photoshop for post processing yet.

M51 (Whirlpool) 23 x 60 seconds stacked and processed in DSS

Hi John,

Good to see some Northern Hemisphere amateurs posting on IIS.
I was interested in your images as I too am about to try out a 450D on my 16" F4.5 Newt. Have not modded my 450D either.

Like the structure you were able to capture with such short exposures, looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Nice focus and detail there John, but background and colour is all over the place. You need to get PS, its a given, your dead without it, and spend lots of time learning it.....

Nice pics, but you have to improve the background. You can download GIMP it is free. ;)
